Am Bratach Sith (Fairy Flag)

Am Bratach Sith (Fairy Flag)

£375.00

This quilt is pieced intuitively with naturally dyed and un-dyed cotton and linen to achieve a neutral palette, it is hand quilted with a geometric design and finished with hand-tied red accents.

The design is inspired by the fairy flag at Dunvegan castle on the Isle of Skye. The faded, tattered silk remains of the flag were said to hold mystical powers and good luck for the Macleod clan. The folklore states, that should the Macleod clan be in peril in battle they can use the flag to become invincible but the magic will only work three times, it has been used twice in the past.

Hang this quilt as a talisman of good luck on your wall or use as a cosy lap quilt.
